The erstwhile Lizzy McGuire star has signed a deal with NBC to star in a new yet-to-be-titled series, as well as make guest appearances on several of the Peacock's shows.
Duff will meet with various writers to hash out ideas for the sitcom, per Variety, which will be produced by Universal Media Studios.

• Clint Eastwood is joining forces with Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks to helm The Hereafter, a supernatural thriller from Frost/Nixon writer Peter Morgan.
• Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman in talks to helm Motorcade, a DreamWorks thriller about terrorists out to attack the president's motorcade in Los Angeles
• Quantum of Solace helmer Marc Forster is attached to direct World War Z, based on the best-selling book by Max (son of Mel) Brooks that imagines a world ravaged by war with flesh-eating zombies.
• Marvel Animation developing and self-producing a 26-episode Thor cartoon series timed to air after the feature film version hits theaters in 2010.
• President-elect Barack Obama will to give his first post-election TV interview to 60 Minutes correspodent Steve Kroft Sunday afternoon in Chicago. The segment will air that night.
