Just over one week after returning to The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon following a freak accident which caused him to nearly lose his finger, the 40-year-old funnyman attended U2's concert in NYC's Madison Square Garden, where he joined the band on stage and gave a rockin' performance.
Fallon was in the audience hilariously holding a sign which read "singer with a broken finger" before U2 frontman Bono invited him to take the stage to help sing "Desire."
"I'm a big fan of Irish people that fall down and hurt themselves," Fallon said, per Rolling Stone, referring to Bono's cycling accident. "So you're like a mentor to me, brother. Edge, what you did a couple of weeks ago falling off the stage was classic, brother. I'm happy to be a part of the club."
The funnyman then gave his best Bono impression—and even played the harmonica at the end of the song, proving he's truly on the mend following his recent accident and subsequent surgery.
After the song, Fallon and U2 introduced yet another surprise and asked The Roots (Fallon's Tonight Show band) to join the stage.
"I brought a few friends of mine," Fallon said. "I'd like to introduce them. You know them from Philadelphia. The Roots, ladies and gentlemen!"
In addition to taking the stage with Bono, the comedian invited Chevy Chase to join him on The Tonight Show on Wednesday evening, asking the fellow SNL alum to lend him a hand—literally—to perform a piano duet.
Chase, who also happens to be injured, happily obliged and the two joined forces to play "Heart and Soul," using both of their "working hands" to play the piano.
