Cody Simpson Explains Why Going Out With Selena Gomez Can Get Annoying

Sometimes hanging out with a huge celeb isn't all it's cracked up to be.

E! News caught up with Cody Simpson at the Ralph Lauren Polo presentation in New York City earlier today, and the musician admitted that sometimes there can be a slight downside to hanging out with a few of his celeb pals—including Selena Gomez.

When asked if it can get annoying to go out with the A-list brunette beauty, Simpson confessed, "It is kind of [annoying], because on a daily basis, I don't hang out with celebs. All my close friends are normal dudes and then I will hang out with some girl who is a musician and everyone thinks that's what it's all about. Again, I like to be friends with everyone."

Funny enough, romance rumors began swirling between Selena and Cody after the 22-year-old posted a photo of them grabbing ice cream.

The pic shows Gomez taking a lick of her ice cream cone with a gal-pal and two male friends. Simpson can be seen flashing a peace sign while also enjoying his sweet treat. Needless to say, some fans immediately started commenting suggesting something romantic was brewing between Gomez and the Aussie hunk, who has toured with her ex Justin Bieber.

What would understandably seem more annoying is being paraded with the fact that your ex-girlfriend is dating someone new (Hi Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas!), however, Simpson doesn't really seem to mind any of that and insists there's zero drama between them.

"It's all cool, like we have all mutual friends and stuff in New York," the crooner shared with us. "I'm cool about it."

Simpson also dished that he has a mature outlook on the potentially-awkward situation, saying, "I'm sort of impartial to the whole thing and try to remain nice to everyone and not cause any bad blood or anything."

Cody, you are one wise young man.
