BBCOur long national nightmare is over! Tatiana Maslany, the woman with talent coming out of her ears playing literally 4,265,943 characters on BBC America's hit series Orphan Black, has been nominated for an Emmy.
Can we get a hell yes?! Seriously, how did it take three full seasons of Maslany kicking major ass, fully taking on a bunch of completely different, lead roles for the TV Academy to acknowledge that she's one of the best actors in the biz?! It's a mistake, and one that Emmy voters have finally wisened up to and fixed. Finally!
Maslany has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series...for all her roles, although we'd like to petition the Academy to allow the same person to be nominated multiple times in the same category, since Maslany deserves all the awards for playing Sarah, Cosima, Alison, Helena, Rachel, Beth, Katja, Danielle, Aryanna, Janika, Jennifer, Tony, Charlotte, Crystal...and more.
But Maslany's reaction to her nomination was a bit more poised than ours (we did a spit take upon hearing the news...and that will teach us not to drink coffee while sitting at a computer!).
"The nomination is so surreal and exciting, mostly because of our fans and how voraciously supportive and protective they are of our show," Maslany says in a statement to E! News. "They've totally championed us, and given us visibility and we are so grateful to them. So this nomination is for them. And I'm so grateful to the Academy for the nod."
Ugh. She is just perfect. Dedicating her nomination to the Clone Club? After all the hard work and tireless hours she's put in?! How can one person be so amazing?! We do not understand. But we're going to stop questioning it and accept it. Maslany is the best.
And the fans know it too! As soon as the 2015 Emmy nominations were announced earlier this morning, the Clone Club took to Twitter to celebrate the hell out of her nomination. It was glorious. And it shows no signs of stopping.
Even all the Orphan Black clones couldn't help themselves: they celebrated with a dance party!
And after they got that out of their system, Helena started to thank the heavens for finally giving Maslany her due:

Yaaaaasss, kween! No matter what happens during the actual Emmy ceremony, we're already considering this a major win.
