It's been months, and our hearts have only just stopped racing after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. totally dropped the mic in the final moments of the season two finale.

After the battle with the Inhumans was all said and done, we thought we had a break from the alien drama until season three premieres in the fall...but then we saw the post-credits scene.

Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) were running some tests on the mysterious alien rock on the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, trading some small talk until Simmons dropped a bomb on Fitz: she likes him back. After a full season of denying us a proper FitzSimmons date, the ABC Marvel series finally made good on that tease, and a FitzSimmons date was set!

But we celebrated too soon. As soon as Fitz left the room, the alien monolith came to life, transforming into a black liquid that sucked Simmons up, leaving no trace of her behind and no witnesses to what just happened. Noooooo!

What happened to Simmons? What the heck is that rock that ate her? Where did she disappear to?! We have literally no earthly clue, so when E! News rounded up the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. down in San Diego at Comic-Con, we made them give us their best guesses. And they did not disappoint!

Sure, they may just be guessing the answer to the show's biggest mystery right now, but that doesn't mean one of them isn't telling the truth and just acting like they don't know! They're professional actors, after all. This is what they get paid to do.

Press play on our exclusive video above now to check out what Henstridge, Caestecker and their costars Chloe Bennet, Clark Gregg, Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Luke Mitchell, Henry Simmons and Ming-Na Wen think happened to Simmons, and hit the comments section below to weigh in on which answer you think is the truth!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season three premieres Tuesday, September 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
