The Real Housewives of Boca Raton? Yup, it almost happened, according to Andy Cohen.
Andy dropped this little tidbit on Watch What Happens Live when a caller from Boca phoned in to ask Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb a question.
"We almost did a Real Housewives of Boca back in the day," Andy said.
"Really?" Hoda asked.
"It's still a good idea," Kathie Lee said.
"Yes, with old people. It's a great idea…like Golden Girls," Andy said.
"Let's move to Boca and do that," Kathie Lee said to Hoda.
"OK," Hoda said with no hesitation.
And now we really need The Real Housewives of Boca Raton with or without Kathie Lee and Hoda. Dear Bravo and Andy Cohen: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make this show. You could even ship some of the older Housewives from various cities down there when they reach a certain age. This is gold. Maybe they should've done this instead of Miami. No disrespect, Real Housewives of Miami, but…yeah.
Bravo's Real Housewives franchise is still going strong, despite some recent shakeups. Real Housewives of Atlanta is set to begin production season eight despite losing longtime lady NeNe Leakes. NeNe may still pop up in some capacity and The Facts of Life star Kim Fields may join the cast alongside returning player Sheree Whitfield. Yes, Tootie from The Facts of Life. Real Housewives of New Jersey is still on hold while Teresa Giudice is behind bars, but her husband Joe and their kids are getting a special about life without the matriarch. Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Orange County just entered season 10, Bethenny Frankel returned to Real Housewives of New York City for season seven and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is entering season five. And let's not forget guilty international pleasure Real Housewives of Melbourne.
Now if you'll excuse us we need to go talk to everybody we know about The Real Housewives of Boca Raton.
(E! and Bravo are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
