It's Human Nature: Britney, Justin Keep Their Distance at Madonna Show

Madonna has her bases covered at Dodger Stadium as Spears and Timberlake take turns sharing the stage with her

Madonna had her bases covered at Dodger Stadium tonight, although she was careful not to double up.

The pop über-star's Sticky & Sweet tour was made all the more saucy Thursday when long-ago couple Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake joined her onstage—albeit not at the same time.

Spears, clad in black pants, a white tuxedo-style shirt and black heels, shared the spotlight with Madonna on the third song of the night, "Human Nature"—which, incidentally came pretty late in the evening because the show started nearly three hours late.

The delay possibly had to do with Wednesday's lighting and technical difficulties, which halted construction on the Material Girl's set.

"Half of my stage is missing...which is why we're in the dark," Madonna informed the crowd later on.

"The absence of light makes it very hard to look into the audience eyes and that's what makes performing such a joy. So come close. And thank you for your understanding."

Meanwhile, Madge's erstwhile makeout partner skedaddled from the stage long before Timberlake appeared to duet with the belle of the ball on their Hard Candy tune "4 Minutes."

We hear that Spears, surrounded by bodyguards, immediately took off following Timberlake's appearance. So much for the face time, but perhaps the two of them breathing the same rarified air is as good as it's going to get for awhile.

Adding to the evening's A-list quotient were audience members Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Carrie Underwood, Dennis Quaid, Hayden Panettiere, Fergie, Kate Moss and Amanda Bynes.
