What a catch!

David Beckham stole the show at Wimbledon Thursday when he caught a tennis ball mid-game. He made his catch while Jamie Murray, brother of tennis star Andy Murray, and John Peers played against Jonathan Erlich and Philipp Petzschner in the men's doubles final.

Looking suave in a navy suit, the 40-year-old soccer stud and underwear model, who sat in the Royal Box near the court, threw the ball back into the court and wagged his eyebrows, smiled and waved as his fellow spectators applauded him.

"Incredible catch by David Beckham in the Royal Box at #Wimbledon," read a message posted on the tennis tournament's Facebook page. "He should have been a goalkeeper..."

David had caught the ball after it ricocheted off one of the line judges' chairs and into the crowd, following a serve by Peers in the opening game of the second set, the U.K. newspaper The Independent reported. He and Andy beat Erlich and Petzschner 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-2.

David, who had attracted scores of selfie-seeking fans throughout the day, had attended the game with his mother, Sandra Beckham. He had also attended Wimbledon a day before with his and Victoria Beckham's 12-year-old son, Romeo Beckham.
