Janet Jackson is having a good week—on Sunday, the star was named Ultimate Icon at the 2015 BET Awards and, well, now we're taking a look at her iconic (see what we did there?) red carpet and on-stage style.
The singer has been known to wear a wild ensemble or two for her live performances, but her red carpet motif reads surprisingly demure. Janet often opts for simple, clingy white gowns, and she won't shy from an effortless LBD either.
When Jackson does choose pops of color for the carpet, she goes all out: Like the pink-to-violet ombré kimono she sported to an Alexander McQueen event in 2008. We also loved the jewel-toned Haider Ackermann get-up she wore to the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in 2011.
There's more eye-catching, lust-worthy and mind-boggling looks where that came from: Click through our gallery to see Janet's style evolve over time. (And yes, like fine wine she just keeps getting better.)
