Former Baywatch star Jeremy Jackson was arrested on Saturday for assault with a deadly weapon in Westlake, Calif., E! News confirms. The 34-year-old actor was taken into custody after allegedly stabbing a man and then fleeing the scene.

According to the LAPD, police responded to a call on Friday saying someone had stabbed a man with a knife in the 1600 block of 7th Street. The unidentified alleged victim suffered a stab wound to his left upper left torso and was taken to the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center for treatment.

His attacker fled the scene before police arrived; however, the injured man identified his assailant as "Hobie"—the name of Jackson's character on the hit NBC show.

The following day, authorities received reports of a possible "prowler" in the same neighborhood and discovered that the man in question was Jackson, who was wanted in the stabbing. He was immediately arrested near the 700 block of South Union Avenue.

The Celebrity Big Brother star was booked around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. His bail was set at $30,000 and he was released later that evening.

While police are currently investigating, Jackson told TMZ that he acted in self-defense, claiming he was the victim of an attempted robbery at a party he threw at an AirBnB.

Jackson previously admitted to struggling with drug addiction during a past special on E!. He admitted to abusing alcohol and methamphetamines  and partly attributing his decision to leave Baywatch to his battles with substance abuse.

In 2011, Jackson appeared on the fifth season of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, which chronicled his addiction to steroids. He also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.
