UPDATE: ESPN announced Thursday afternoon that they were suspending Britt McHenry. The network released the following statement:
"Britt McHenry has been suspended for one week effectively immediately."
It looks like McHenry might not be having the best April.
A video emerged on LiveLeak Thursday of a woman who appears to be the ESPN reporter chewing out a parking lot attendant. The footage, which includes audio, purportedly shows McHenry berating the female attendant, criticizing her looks and education.
Since the video first came to light, McHenry has issued an apology for the outburst, writing, "In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake."
So what happened exactly?
In a tweet from April 6 that appears to have since been deleted, McHenry posted an angry message about her car being towed in Arlington, Virginia, but website ARLnow managed to save the social media exchange. "Just got towed after eating dinner at an establishment in Arlington. How corrupt is Advanced Towing?" she wrote.
Although the video doesn't show what sparked the onslaught of comments, it's clear that McHenry was none too pleased. "I'm in the news sweetheart, I will f--king sue this place," she says to the attendant.
