With so many family sitcoms on TV, it's hard to decide just which characters are the best and funniest! Fortunately, this list is just the most entertaining TV moms, which narrows it down a bit. Don't worry...there will be a list for dads, too!

So who made E! News' top nine? Read on to find out...

E!'s new scripted series, The Royals, has "a royal pain" of a mother, but who could hate Elizabeth Hurley? She might care more about saving the monarchy than about her children's feelings, but give her a slight pass...she is the Queen after all! And with her incredible sass, it's hard not to include her.

Doris Roberts' Marie Barone of Everybody Loves Raymond fame was the Italian mother you never knew you needed or wanted. Her constant nagging and overbearing presence, combined with her hilarious attitude towards her husband, Frank, makes her No. 8 in our book.

Peggy Bundy from Married...With Children was one of the best sex-starved moms to ever hit the small screen. Katey Sagal was one of the funniest bon-bon eating matriarchal figures on TV, which puts her at slot seven.

There's a tie for sixth! These two moms hail from the same sitcom, Modern Family. That's right, we're giving Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and Gloria Pritchett (Sofia Vergara) a shout out because both provide some serious laughs with their very opposite personalities. And when you combine them for the ultimate stepmom-stepdaughter combination, you might just pee your pants.

Ahhh, (mostly) even-tempered Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) from That '70s Show takes fifth place because who could ever forget her love of having young people around the house! Then again, when she did lose her temper, it gave viewers a serious shakeup LOL.

Fan favorite Kirsten Cohen, the mom everyone wanted with her laid-back attitude and heartwarming pieces of advice, made The OC one of the best moms on TV. Although she had an unfortunate fall into alcoholism, her family rallied around her in every way possible. Ugh, is it still possible to be adopted into the Cohen family?

For 26 seasons, Marge Simpson has been the "voice of sanity" in her family's household, which automatically puts her in third place because having to deal with Homer is a full-time job.

The ultimate mother-daughter duo, Lorelei Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel), take second place. Let's be honest, Lorelei was not only one of the hottest moms on TV she was also the coolest. She definitely was more understanding than anyone else we knew and she could be relied upon for some sarcastic humor when needed.

The most entertaining mom on TV, however, goes to Lucille Bluth. The most manipulative matriarch who is dead set on turning her family members against each other if it means she gets ahead provides more laughs than anyone we know.
