Well, it's safe to say that we now know where Ryan Gosling stands on texting.

The actor was in the middle of an interview promoting his directorial debut, Lost River, when he received a text message that completely caught him off guard.

The new father had begun to answer BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt's question when a loud beep went off, prompting the actor to mutter, "Oh my God. I'm sorry about that."

Without any hesitation, Gosling chucked his cellphone to a member of his team and didn't make any attempts to even see who the message was from.

"I'm ashamed," he added, before continuing to apologize to the interviewer.

When asked whether or not he would have flipped out if a similar situation had taken place on his movie set, Eva Mendes' man joked that he would've gone "just nuts."

He continued, "Just [Hulk] Hogan your shirt off and start swinging." (We're totally on board with the first half of that, by the way. Sorry not sorry.)

And in another interview, Gosling revealed that he asked his leading ladies—Christina Hendricks and Saoirse Ronan—to write down their dreams and then share them with the rest of the cast during filming.

"I know that sounds kooky, but it's like a symbol to represent a lot of things, and it gives you a shorthand," Gosling shared with the Creators Project. "We tried it, and it came in handy a few times. I've also never said the word 'kooky' before, so that's a first."

Does he get any more adorable?!

He also addressed the harsh criticism of his movie, most notably at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, saying, "High school kind of prepares you for all this s--t."

"It's not that different, really. In high school every time you stuck your neck out there was always a bunch of people there ready to chop your head off. Hollywood's not different. It's just their opinion of the film, and my opinion of their review is 'two thumbs down.'"
