Taraji P. Henson Is Guest Starring on the Last TV Show You'd Expect

She's aliiiiiiiveeee!!!

Not really.  But Taraji P. Henson is heading back to the last show you'd expect—given that she was killed off of it in season three, to the ugly-crying of fans everywhere: CBS' Person of Interest.

It won't be a divine resurrection for here character Detective Carter, however. Taraji will be appearing in flashbacks.

Henson will return to the CBS drama she once starred on for one episode airing April 14, which finds Reese (Jim Caviezel) working alone to solve a homicide cold case that Carter was never able to solve. The flashbacks will show Carter and Reese's failed attempts to solve the case before her death.

Fans everywhere were devastated when, in season three, Henson was killed off the show in a shocking twist when her investigation into corrupt cop organization HR cost her her life. It was the episode that shattered hearts across America, as Carter was shot by Simmons (Robert John Burke), and died in Reese's arms. We still get tears just thinking about it. But hey, we so don't mind that that very death lead to us getting the magical, mystical creature that is Cookie Lyon. So all is not lost.  

Empire, which just concluded its first season on Fox, is the biggest breakout drama of the TV season, pulling in the most viewers of any primetime network series in the coveted 18-49 demo.

Person of Interest airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
