Stiletto heel who? The 2014 American Music Awards was all about the stiletto nail.
The edgy, pointed look is still one to beat on the red carpet, with stars showcasing the look in muted nude colors, pinks and corals. Take Rita Ora, who wore beige stiletto nails to offset her marigold Zac Posen gown.
"I can't actually bend down," Rita quipped of her figure-hugging frock as she tip-toed her fingers into the mani cam.
Also rocking intricate rings? Fergie, who wore a reverse French manicure (nude nails, black tips) in a sharp, stiletto shape.
Kylie Jenner sported a dark burgundy hue on her long, square-shaped nails with simple gold and silver Cartier love bands on her right ring finger (a massive starburst-shaped diamond ring graced her left hand). Older sis Khloé Kardashian rocked one of the most vibrant manicures of the night: a bright neon orange color in the same shape as Kylie's nails. Kendall Jenner was the most muted of the sister act (well, not in terms of her see-through red carpet attire), wearing shorter, rounded nude nails.
Chic manis aside, one of the most notable trends of this year's AMAs was serious, five-finger ring action. Rita wore chunky diamond rings on her right hand and a bracelet hand chain on her left. Khloé, Fergie and Julianne, meanwhile, stacked gold onto their well-manicured digits.
Julianne Hough went for a pale peony pink color with a pointed, rocker-chic shape.
"I was going for the AMA thing which is all about the long spiky nails. And I full-on loaded up the jewelry," Hough told E! News of her blinged-out fingers.
