Rejoice Parenthood fans, Mark Cyr, played by the fantastic Jason Ritter, is back in Thursday's episode, and coming face-to-face with Sarah (Lauren Graham) for the first time since he told her he was engaged after she chose Hank (Ray Romano) over him. By her side when she runs into her ex? Hank, of course.
But Hank's ex-wife Sandy, who has been around an awful lot lately, also happens to be standing by, and comments on "the hot English teacher" in our exclusive sneak peek at the Nov. 20 episode, "Lean In."
"Are you waving to the hot English teacher?" Sandy asks Sarah as they are waiting for Ruby (Courtney Grosbeck) after the school play, and while Sarah tries to downplay the interaction, Hank decides to spill her history with Mark. Awkward!
But the following looks between Sarah and Mark? They. Nearly. Killed. Us. While we don't want to see Mark take Sarah back after everything she's put him through, we can't help but wonder what would've happened if Sarah has chosen him over Hank. (Sighhh.) And we also can't help but wonder if Mark is still engaged. (Double Sighhh.)
Of course, Parenthood fans have more than Sarah's love life to worry over leading up to the series finale, as the show is set to off one of our beloved characters, a polarizing storyline on the close-knit set.
"We've had a lot of dialogue about this behind the scenes and there have been some contentiousness," Craig T. Nelson told us. "We don't exactly know what it is but the lead up to whatever it is has been so emotional for both of us that it's not really good for you. It's not healthy, health wise, at our age. Or mine, I should say. I don't know. I'm not the best to talk to about it. I don't like it. I don't like it."
Parenthood airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
