The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum Alfonso Ribeiro suffered an injury during a recent rehearsal for Dancing With the Stars, where he and partner Witney Carson are among five finalists competing for the season 19 Mirror Ball Trophy, and sought medical attention, E! News confirmed on Friday.

Alfonso's injury had led to speculation that he may quit Dancing With the Stars. The show is filmed and airs on Mondays.

"Hey #TeamWitfonso thanks 4 all the love," the actor tweeted on Saturday. "I'm working really hard to be able to dance Monday. Keep the prayers coming. Love you all."

Check out a video below showing Ribeiro talking to Carson about his injury.

"This is the worst possible time, this late in the game," he said.

His wife Angela Ribeiro, who is pregnant with their second child, had also posted on her Twitter page an update about her husband.

"Went to rehearsal to help massage my hubby's back during breaks. He's much better today, thankfully. #TeamWitfonso."

Carson retweeted Angela.

Alfonso's wife has for weeks posted messages on Twitter supporting her husband and his dance partner and has joined him at tapings.

Alfonso posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday a picture of her with their 1-year-old son, also named Alfonso, and friends, including 7th Heaven alum Beverley Mitchell, who is also pregnant, at his trailer.

My family and crew from last night. Thank you all for coming.

Scores of competitors, including celebrity contestants and pro dancers, have been injured while competing on Dancing With the Stars, even breaking bones. Last season, Star Wars alum Billy Dee Williams, 77, quit the grueling competition due to chronic back pain.

Alfonso had also injured his groin in October during a dress rehearsal, while Carson injured her own back. Both performed anyway, dancing through the pain.

"On the dance floor, we give it our all and we hold nothing back and we do everything we can to deliver the best performance that we can regardless of whether we're in pain or not," the actor told E! News.
