British Invasion! Matthew Goode Predicts Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne Will Get Oscar Nominations

"I'm very proud of Ben, who I've known for a really long time," The Imitation Game star said of his co-stars

Looks like the 2015 Academy Awards may be receiving a British invasion—and we could not be more excited. 

Both Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch have received rave reviews for their forthcoming films, The Theory of Everything and The Imitation Game, respectively, and while award season has yet to officially begin, the word "Oscar" is already being tossed around as critics continue to marvel over both Brits' performances. 

"There's a load of Brits as well!" Matthew Goode exclaimed to E! News of the Oscar buzz across the pond at the Los Angeles premiere of The Imitation Game, hosted by Chanel. 

"I'm very proud of Ben, who I've known for a really long time," Goode said of his newly engaged co-star, who plays Alan Turing in the upcoming flick. "He's astonishing in the film, it's incredible how he dealt with the script and created this character…he's achieved something that's completely different." 

Goode also stars in the forthcoming film which centers on the life of Turing, the late British mathematician who helped crack Nazi Germany's Enigma Code during WWII but was later prosecuted for homosexuality. And not only is Goode proud of Benedict's performance, but he's also honored to be a part of a film with such a vital message. 

"It's obviously a hugely important story in British history—and to world history—because this man effectively stopped the war two years early and saved the lives of around 14 million people. It's good that his story is being told," he said of Turing, adding "We should see the story and think, 'Well, that should never happen again.'"

Turing comes to life on screen thanks to Cumberbatch's performance, which, according to Goode, is absolutely Oscar worthy.

"Hopefully," he said before lowering his voice and admitting with excitement, "I'm pretty sure he's going to get a nomination." 

Goode also sung Redmayne's praises over his performance in Theory, in which the 32-year-old star takes on the role of Stephen Hawking following the English theoretical physicist's diagnosis with ALS in his early 20s. 

Calling Eddie a "shoe-in" for an Oscar nomination, the handsome thesp couldn't help but smile as he pondered a "British takeover." 

Sounds like the British are coming winning!
