Someone was tardy for the party.

Rapper Tyga was leaving South Central Los Angeles after shooting a music video this afternoon when he was pulled over at approximately 4:30 p.m. by school police while driving a white Bentley for unsafe lane changes and unsafe speed, E! News learns.

Tyga was cited for the violations and released by the school police. The Los Angeles Police Department also assisted in the traffic stop. His bodyguard was taken into custody on a weapons violation.

The 24-year-old was on his way to an event at the House of Blues in L.A. (which was also livestreamed) featuring Chris Brown and Trey Songz to announce their collaborative tour Between the Sheets.

Because of Tyga's run-in with the law, he ended up arriving too late for the performance, but was right on time to chat with the press afterwards and seemed to be in good spirits, cracking jokes about the whole debacle that happened prior to the event.

Even Breezy quipped during our interview, "He was rushing to get here." As for missing the performance, Tyga tells us, "That's why you have to come out to the tour, to see the real thing."

The 25-date tour will kick start on January 28 in Virginia and trek through major cities including Brooklyn, Houston, Charlotte, Detroit, Philly, Toronto, Las Vegas, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles on March 8. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 17, while pre-sale tickets go on sale this Thursday.
