Meet NBC's New Hot Jesus Christ: Juan Pablo di Pace

Dallas veteran will star in NBC's 12-episode miniseries from Roma Downey and Mark Burnett

Jesus Christ! This is NBC's new Jesus Christ. Juan Pablo di Pace will play the religious figure in NBC's new miniseries event A.D., E! News has confirmed

Di Pace's other credits include Dallas and NBC's short-lived Camp opposite Rachel Griffiths. "Hello all. Tomorrow there's an exciting announcement from NBC... (It's not Dallas, sorry folks)," di Pace tweeted on November 4. Exciting announcement indeed! "Humbled and happy to be playing HIM," he said.

NBC's sequel to The Bible will take place after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. A.D. follows the disciples who moved forward and disseminated Christ's teachings in a world of unrest. The 12-episode miniseries, which is in production now, is slated for Easter 2015. Gaze in wonder at NBC's new Jesus Christ below.

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are behind the ambitious new miniseries. Diogo Morgado played the character in History's smash hit The Bible. A.D.'s cast also includes Babou Ceesay as John, Greta Scacchi as Mother Mary and Chipo Chung as Mary Magdalene. Richard Bedser is also an executive producer with Simon Blockwriting the script.

According to Deadline, the cast also includes Richard Coyle as Caiaphas as the High Priest of the Temple, Vincent Regan as Pilate, Adam Levy as Peter, Emmet Scanlan will paly Saul, Jodhi May as Leah, Caiaphas' wife and Joanne Whalley as Claudia, Pliate's wife.
