Dolls, a warning: Do NOT try this at home...
Kim Kardashian, under the care and control of trained professionals, bleached her eyebrows. Generally, unless you're Andy Warhol, this is not a good idea. Mrs. Kanye West knows this, so why did she knowingly commit such a beauty blunder?
For a photo shoot, of course! Kim, well aware that her brows appeared to be nearly nonexistent, went to little sis Kendall Jenner's 19th birthday party Monday and bravely posed alongside eyebrow queen Cara Delevingne. The 22-year-old British model cocked an eyebrow skeptically in the snap, which Kim hashtagged #DontBeScaredOfMyBleachedBrows #ItsForAPhotoShoot.
Cara had that same quizzical expression in a second pic with Kim, 34, and Kanye, 37, taken that night. Kim, putting best duck face forward, added the hashtag #EyebrowsOnFleek.
The B-Day girl surely empathized with Kim's willingness to sacrifice a facial feature in the name of fashion. After all, Kendall was one of the girls who got her brows bleached for Marc Jacobs' New York Fashion Week show this past February.
Victoria Hunter, of NYC's Whittemore House Salon, bleached and tinted all of the models', including Kendall's, eyebrows before the show. "It's not something you do at home," she told E! News at the time, "especially if you have really dark eyebrows."
"To do it took hours," she added. "We started at midday, and we were going for hours and hours."
It's a particular bleach, because your eyebrows are very sensitive," she explained, "so you have to have something that has an oil base." After the bleaching, she would apply toner to achieve that beige color.
Returning to one's natural brow color, Victoria claimed, is "very simple...because you're just putting a dark color back on."
She might find this "very easy," but keep in mind bleaching brows should always be left to a trained professional.
