Gotham Behind-the-Scenes First Look: Meet the City's Saviors and Villains

Get an exclusive look at the heroes and villains of Fox's new DC Comics origin story TV series

It's safe to say Gotham is presenting some very beloved comic book characters in a whole new light this fall. The origin story of Commissioner Gordon, Bruce Wayne (the man who would become Batman) and the villains with whom Batman tangles with are at the center of the new Fox series and E! has an exclusive behind the scenes look at the new take on some very famous characters.

In the video above, get a look at the colorful Gotham cast that includes Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne and Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle.

Jada Pinkett Smith takes on the role of Fish Mooney, an original character for Gotham. The cast also includes Erin Richards as Gordon's fiancé Barbara Kean, Zabryna Guevara as Bullock and Gordon's boss Captain Sarah Essen, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nigma, the man who will become The Riddler, and Claire Foley as Ivy Pepper.

Viewers will recognize Foley as young Piper in Orange Is the New Black season two and from a recent episode of Law & Order: SVU that shared similarities to the Woody Allen and Mia Farrow headline-grabbing stories.

Gotham airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on Fox.
