McKenzie "Kenzie" Carey is a 12-year-old from Georgia who loves performing in pageants. She has been competing since she was 5-years-old and she's won a number of titles. For the talent portion of the competition, Kenzie gets a little help from her dad, Mike.

Because Kenzie suffers from a life threatening Mitochondrial disease—a disease that affects her body's ability to create energy to support growth. She was diagnosed with the disease at 1-and-a-half-years-old and, while it hasn't left her paralyzed, it has damaged her brain, heart, liver, and muscles, leaving her unable to walk or talk.

"We are her voice and her legs," her mother Tammy explained to WTVR. "My husband started doing these dances with her to inspire people and she has inspired people and touched peoples hearts from all over the world."

She continues, "Pageants give her the same opportunity as other children."

There is no known cure for the disease, but Tammy says Kenzie is responding positively to alternative therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and intensive suit therapy. But both are very expensive. If you'd like to help Kenzie, you can donate to her Go Fund Me page here.

And watch Kenzie and her dad's entire touching routine below:
