Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s "Mean Tweets" are back!

In a primetime special that aired Sunday (timed to the NBA Finals), late-night host Jimmy Kimmel invited current and former basketball players, plus a sports columnist, to participate in the recurring segment.

What did non-famous folks have to say about the athletes and their mentors? "@KrisHumphries **** YOU! You're so pathetic! Seriously kill yourself please. XX," Boston Celtics power forward Kris Humphries read, quoting @DavidMateDi. It didn't get much better for New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, who read @aexl_G13's tweet: "Can't lie, Amare Stoudemire looks homeless."

Houston Rockets teammates Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lin were also asked to read "mean tweets."

Lin's response to @khobeaustin was absolutely perfect.

Other current NBA players who got in on the fun and read "mean tweets" included Philadelphia 76ers' Michael Carter-Williams, Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins, Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry, Indiana Pacers' Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers' DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul and Denver Nuggets' Nate Robinson. Retired players featured included Dikembe Mutombo and Jalen Rose.

Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night aired at 7 p.m. ET and following ABC's telecast of the NBA Finals' Game 5 on the West Coast. The San Antonio Spurs beat the Miami Heat 4-1 in the best-of-seven game series.
