Bill Clinton certainly knows a thing or two about scandals, so don't you think he'd be the perfect guest star on Scandal?

While series creator Shonda Rhimes says she's not that into real-life politician stunt casting, she'd make an exception for the former president.

"That's not really our thing, but I will say, 'Bill Clinton, if you're out there, we would love to have you…We would always love to have you," Rhimes told me last night at Women In Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards, where she presented Kerry Washington with the Lucy Award for Excellence in Television.

At the same time, Rhimes isn't too sure Bill would want to run in Olivia Pope's circle of friends, lovers, enemies and every person in-between.

"There are always interesting politicians out there who would be interesting [to have on the show], but our show is a very heightened, very dark view of Washington," Rhimes said. "I don't think really Bill Clinton or any of those people belong in our Washington."

Maybe not, but how awesome would it be to see Olivia go up against Bill?

Washington revealed last year that Clinton apparently watches the show.

"Bill Clinton was another person where I was like, ‘What?! You watch Scandal?!'" Washington told Entertainment Weekly. "I feel like it happens at least once a week—that I am totally floored by somebody who watches the show."

Olivia Pope is based on D.C. crisis manager Judy Smith, whose client list once included—gulp!—Monica Lewinsky.
