Hilary Rhoda is obviously going to be a very beautiful bride, but her fiancé Sean Avery doesn't necessarily want to see her decked out in wedding white!

"I think white is a little drawn-out by now," the former NHL star told E! News exclusively Tuesday at Samsung's 2014 Hope for Children Gala in New York City. In fact, the 34-year-old would love to see his 27-year-old fiancée wearing "something untraditional" on their big day.

"I don't think she needs to wear white," he explained. But Sean, who himself has worked in fashion and even interned at Vogue magazine in 2008, realizes he doesn't exactly know what it feels like to be a blushing bride. As he quickly admitted to E! News, "I think women on their wedding day think completely different than the way I am thinking now."

That seems like a fair assessment. Hilary's future hubby does know for sure, though, that they "are going to have [the wedding] in Jamaica," saying they've even "started to plan, and it's going to be quite the event."

And while the wedding "started off small, now it's getting bigger, as I am starting to see," Sean said. "Isn't that always what happens?"

Pretty much! And when E! News asked the groom-to-be his thoughts on Hilary's modeling work—particularly when she worked the runway at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, he couldn't help but gush a little. "She is hot," he said, "that's why I'm marrying her!"

That is just one of the many reasons, we're sure, why Sean is looking forward to sharing his life with Hilary!
