Ashley Tisdale Gets "Long Shattered Bob" Haircut—See the Pic!

Star's hairstylist tells us why she got the big chop

Did Ashley Tisdale just get a bridal makeover?

Nah, just a fresh crop for the summer, according to her hairstylist Nikki Lee of West Hollywood's Nine Zero One Salon who created the "long shattered bob."

"She's been itching for change so she figured this would be fun for summer. She hasn't had short hair in a long time—since The Suite Life of Zach and Cody—so she was a little nervous but as soon as we cut off the length she fell in love."

So what makes the lob—which tapers off at the actress' shoulders—a shattered one? "Instead of it looking like a classic Vidal Sassoon bob, which is very blunt, there's texture to the ends. This gives the look more edge and movement," explains Nikki (clients also include Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Nina Dobrev).

Although the new ‘do "was all Ashley's idea," Lee does acknowledge that bob hairstyles are the major trend in haircuts right now. "Long hair is always beautiful but there's something about short hair that gives a flirty fun feel. This fad will last through the summer for sure!"

It certainly seems like her prediction is spot on. In the last few weeks alone, we've seen stars such as Hayden Panettiere, Minka Kelly, Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Whitney Port opt for a chin-length looks.
