Is Kate Mara concerned that a large man in a tiny pair of underwear is about to take her down on this red carpet? We can't understand why else the Transcendence star would step out wearing what looks like a body bulker covered in glitter!

Though, there is also something "knight in shining armor" about the style, with a little bullet proof vest chic going on. Maybe the paparazzi have gotten even more aggressive than we remember. She can't be too safe as a slight star. We guess the sequined embellishments make this enough of a dress to qualify as fashion...

But wouldn't this Dolce & Gabbana LBD look so much better without all that extra padding? Yes, the '80s shoulders add a bit of drama, but there's plenty of that already thanks to the black and gold detailing and super short skirt. The look just ends making Kate look like a superhero in a drag costume!

And despite that being the world's most hysterical mental image, we can't support this awkward style. What's your take?
