Obama, Elizabeth and Charles gathered today during the International Ceremony at Sword Beach in Ouistreham, Normandy, France.
Obama and Prince Charles were all smiles while greeting each other and shaking hands as Charles' wife, Camilla, watched on. The U.S. commander in chief was dressed in a navy suit and red tie, and Charles wore a British royal forces uniform. Meanwhile, Camilla wore an all-white outfit with a white hat.
As for the queen, Elizabeth wore a bright green ensemble with a matching hat.
Meanwhile, Will and Kate looked like one cute couple a few miles away in Arromanches Les Bains at a separate D-Day anniversary celebration. Kate stunned in a blue coat, black heels and a black hat while Will suited up in a navy suit. The royal couple was seen walking about as Kate carried a bouquet of flowers.
Other politicos in attendance during today's celebrations included French president Francois Hollande, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian president-elect Petro Poroshenko. The leaders paid their respects as they watched and clapped during the various ceremonies.
June 6 marks the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in World War II, which saw over 150,000 allied troops from the U.S. and Britain begin the invasion of Germany-occupied European territories to defeat the Nazis.
