If you collect spores, molds and fungus, then we have the summer movie recommendation for you.

Ghostbusters is returning to about 700 big screens on Aug. 29 for what can only be a too-brief theatrical run in honor of the seminal comedy's 30th anniversary.

Who you gonna call to be your date?!

"Ghostbusters is still one of our studio's most beloved franchises," gatekeeper Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution at Sony, said in a statement. "I was lucky enough to work on the release of the film on its first run, so it's a real thrill for me to see that it's still connecting with audiences everywhere. On the big screen or in home entertainment, this is a great movie to experience again and again."

The 1984 film—directed by Ivan Reitman, cowritten by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and starring Akroyd, Ramis and Bill Murray as university-based parapsychologists forced into the results-expecting private sector and ultimately joined by Ernie Hudson in their ghost-busting endeavors—was made for $30 million and ended up grossing nearly $300 million worldwide.

Now, this theatrical rerelease can work either of two ways—it can either remind enthusiasts that a third Ghostbusters film not featuring Ramis, who died in February, or Murray, who never agreed to do it, is most definitely not needed. Or, it can get folks all hopped up on the idea that of course another film is needed because look at how magical the first one was.

As if we needed reminding, 1989's Ghostbusters II has its moments, nearly all of them featuring Murray and/or Peter MacNicol, but it wasn't nearly as cutting-edge as numero uno.

The theatrical rerelease of Ghostbusters will precede the film's Sept. 16 release on Blu-ray in a brand-new 30th-anniversary edition special package and the 25th-anniversary edition of Ghostbusters II, on Blu-ray for the first time.

Meanwhile, June 8 marks exactly 30 years since the original hit theaters, so feel free to yes, have some, on Sunday from the comfort of home before there's mass hysteria.
