REX USA/Tim Rooke/RexKate Middleton looked appropriately regal when she and Prince William traveled to Perth and Kinross in Scotland Thursday. The 32-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, known as the Countess of Strathearn in the European nation, modeled a red Jonathan Saunders coat for the royal couple's official outing.
Middleton selected the look to honor Scotland, as Saunders is a native. The Athena Wool Jacquard Coat in Red Stripe is from the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, retailing for approximately $2,555.
The Duchess' dress was by Goat. Middleton also wore a Celtic design brooch, which was wedding gift.
Future King of England Prince George stayed home with a nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo as his parents made their first joint appearance since returning from New Zealand and Australia in late April.
The Cambridges first visited the Strathearn community campus to meet local groups, including young carers, Scouts, Cadets and Brownies. They also met representatives from the Scottish Air Ambulance.
William scoped out the aircraft's interior. Reports recently claimed the Duke, who stepped down as a search-and-rescue pilot with the RAF last year, is considering taking a role as an air ambulance pilot.
Next, the royal couple visited the newly restored MacRosty Park in Crieff. While there, they greeted the eager crowd and later unveiled a plaque to mark the dedication of the park as a Field in Trust.
Crieff resident Heidi Whitelock, 45, waited with her son Mackenzie, 10, outside the community campus. "I shook William's hand and apologized for having cold hands," she told The Mirror. "He said, 'Don't worry—you won't be the only one today.' I asked him about George. I said, 'George is beautiful, and how is he doing?' He said, 'Thanks, he's very well. He's growing and he's a very good boy.'"
Later in the day, the Cambridges will tour the Famous Grouse Distillery and are expected try shots of whiskey and meet representatives from the local community at a reception. Finally, the Duke and Duchess will attend a celebration in Forteviot, where they will meet more community representatives.
