Jack Hyer, 21, knew he would marry his girlfriend, Becca Strellnauer, after their first date.

"Four years ago, I went on my first date with her and it went so well that I wrote in my travel journal, on September 30, 2010, ‘I'm going to marry this girl eventually,'" he says.

He didn't tell her yet, but he did start working on his proposal immediately. Jack started filming himself lip syncing to The Proclaimer's "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" everywhere he traveled.

Turns out he travels a lot. Forget 500 miles, Jack covered more than 100,000 miles in the video. He says he relied on family, travel buddies, and complete strangers to film him in 26 countries.

He lip-synced in Tanzania...

Jerusalem...

Thailand...

Turkey...

And China, among others.

On the night of the couple's college graduation from the University of Montana, Jack told Becca he was going to show her a "graduation slideshow." Instead, he showed her this. She said yes.

"As I said when I proposed to her, the greatest adventure in my life is her and now I want to travel with her as opposed to alone," Jack told ABC News. Watch his epic proposal video below:
