For most people, driving under the influence is no laughing matter. For Jason Priestley and Chelsea Handler, however, it's almost like a rite of passage. Recalling his 1999 DUI arrest on Wednesday's Chelsea Lately, the actor—who was promoting his memoir—joked about the five days he spent in jail.

"What self-respecting Los Angeleno doesn't have a DUI under their belt?" he asked. "I mean, come on!" He then high-fived the late-night host, who was also jailed after being convicted of DUI at age 21. "The important thing is not to get two," Handler said. Priestley agreed, saying, "You get one. Lesson learned." Handler then offered to let the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor borrow her driver in the future.

Priestley then dished on his stint in a "federal, minimum-security lockup." When he arrived at the facility, he said, "I had no idea what I was walking into." While there, he saw a group of Russian men sitting at long table. "I walk in and they all stop playing the game. They all turn and look at me like it was a scene out of Indiana Jones." According to Priestley, the "biggest guy at the table" walked over to him, opened his arms wide and, recognizing the actor's most popular TV character, said, "'Brandon!'"

"He grabbed me and he hugged me," Priestley said. "He picked me up and he carried me over to the table and he put me down, and I just sat down and started playing cards with these guys. I played cards with them for five days. I had no idea what the game was, I had no idea what anyone was saying—I just played," he told Handler. "I got out of there in one piece. That's all I cared about."
