It's an American Idol threesome!

Hey now, get your heads out of the gutter. We're talking about the fact that after a long road, we're finally down to the final three contestants on this season of Idol. But first, did anyone miss hearing Randy Jackson's critiques?  No? Good, we didn't either.

However the powers-that-be at American Idol are still really trying to promote him as this season's mentor, so we were forced to endure his not-so-constructive criticisms again this week for the remaining top four contestants. Essentially Jackson filled-up a good portion of the half-hour results show by buttering the contestants up with compliments. (Hey, at least he knows their names now right?)

But now, let's get to the goods: three out of the remaining four Idol hopefuls have made it into the coveted hometown visits stage of the competition. (No word yet on if Juan Pablo Galavis is going to show up…)

Say congratulations to…. Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, and Alex Preston! And for those of you keeping score at home, this means that Jessica Meuse was kicked out of the competition.

The country crooner was extremely emotional following the news of her elimination but still managed to give fans a rockin' version of "Blue-Eyed Lie" for her swan song.

Do you think Jessica deserved to be eliminated? Who do you think will be the next winner of American Idol? Sing your thoughts in the comments below!
