Giuliana Rancic Had a Perfectly Rational Reaction to News of George Clooney's Engagement: Watch Now!

Let's just say, hubby Bill may have wanted to get lawyers involved...

Giuliana Rancic has always gotten along famously with George Clooney on the red carpet and in a professional capacity. But who knew how attached she was getting!

On Monday's E! News, Catt Sadler confronted Giuliana and hubby Bill Rancic, who was onboard as guest cohost today, with a serious question.

"Sources tell me this tension has something to do with your initial reaction to hearing the news of Clooney's engagement," Catt told Giuliana in a quest to find out what really happened when G found out that the other G was engaged to attorney Amal Alamuddin.

"So embarrassing," Giuliana flinched, slouching down in her seat.

"They need to watch it for themselves. It's really atrocious," Bill agreed.

Yes, thank goodness someone just happened to be taping Giuliana in her office on Saturday, where she always keeps a framed photograph of Clooney right next to her.

And the day had started off so well!

"You know what, seriously, I should play the lottery today, this day's so great," Giuliana is telling a friend before a colleague comes in to deliver what she thought was great entertainment news.

Cue the destruction.

"You're engaged?!" Giuliana sobs as she throws herself down on the floor. Bill then walks in, just as she has sent that framed photo crashing to the ground. She tries to tell him that she's hysterical because she's so excited that he's coming in to cohost, but...

"Oh, I see," he says. "Call my lawyer!"

E!

Cut back to today, and all seemed fine between the usually very happy couple, who will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary in September.

Presuming this whole Clooney thing didn't ruin everything.

Would you believe Bill wants you to tune into a brand-new Giuliana & Bill, Tuesday at 9e|6p on E!, to find out?!

And don't miss the usually pretty rational E! News team weeknights at 7 p.m. & 11:30 p.m.
