Shortly after the full list of nominees was announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11, film stars up in varying categories wanted to publicly express their gratitude for this recognition!

Chiwetel Ejiofor (Leading Actor Nominee for 12 Years a Slave): "I couldn't be more thrilled and grateful to the Screen Actors Guild for this nomination. Lupita Nyong'o (Supporting Actress Nominee for 12 Years a Slave): "I am incredibly honored to be recognized by fellow actors for my performance in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave and I am proud to be in the company of my fellow nominees, who are all so incredible. Being part of 12 Years a Slave has been unlike anything I've ever experienced. I am so happy for Chiwetel [Ejiofor], Michael [Fassbender] and the entire cast. This nomination is something I will always cherish."
Forest Whitaker (Best Leading Actor Nominee for Lee Daniels' The Butler): It is a huge honor to be nominated by my peers at SAG.
