Jamie Foxx is electric!

A 30-second teaser for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring the Oscar winner as brand new villain Electro has—pardon the pun—just hit the web to hype the Sony Pictures' sequel's big splash at San Diego's Comic-Con tomorrow.

And by all accounts, Foxx is feeling the blues in the role of Max Dillon, a an aspiring mechanical engineer who once idolized everyone's friendly neighborhood wall-crawler only to turn evil, and a gnarly aqua-blue hue with the power to control electricity.

While the clip is the first actual footage of the Django Unchained star as the classic Marvel baddie, it doesn't reveal much in the way of plot (except perhaps to leave some of us wondering whether he'll join Blue Man Group).

"I can feel it in the walls. I feel it in my veins," Foxx's voice drones ominously over shots of a homemade electrical contraption, which we soon learn his character is hooked up to. "No matter what you do doc, you can't contain it. You want to know how powerful I am? Well I want to know too. I'm Electro. "

The brief trailer climaxes with a lightning bolt and the caption "Electro Arrives" with the date and time of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Comic-Con panel featuring Foxx, the webslinger himself Andrew Garfield and director Marc Webb. (For fanboys and fangirls planning to go, it's July 19, Hall H, 4 p.m. PT.)

In an interview with MTV earlier this year, Foxx hinted that the big-screen version of Dillon/Electro and his costume would be inspired more from Marvel's Ultimate version of Peter Parker's arch-foe, rather than the traditional Marvel look that saw Electro don a tight green outfit with a jagged yellow mask.

"It won't be like that," the 45-year-old thesp told the network. "Marc Webb and all of those guys, they're really smart. They know that it has to make sense in 2013, so the suit is really slick. It's actually black. It's a new age."

Meanwhile, Foxx's costar Felicity Jones just may have let the cat out of the bag concerning one of the movie's biggest secrets (warning: possible spoiler ahead!)

In a sit-down with View London (via The Wrap), the actress revealed that she's playing the gal-pal of Harry Osborne (Dane DeHann), aka the Green Goblin, and may very well be the villainous Black Cat.

"It's all quite shrouded in secrecy, but I'm the Goblin's girlfriend—I'm in a relationship with him, and his accomplice. I'm on the dark side," Jones said.

Whoever she is, we'll have to wait until The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014, to find out.
