It's turning out to be quite the year for Dick Van Dyke.

Just a few months after tying the knot, the legendary actor has been selected by the Screen Actors Guild to receive its Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment.

"Dick is the consummate entertainer—an enormously talented performer whose work has crossed nearly every major category of entertainment," said SAG President Ken Howard in a statement today. "From his career-changing Broadway turn in Bye Bye Birdie and his deadpan humor in the Emmy-winning Dick Van Dyke Show, to his unforgettable performance as Bert in Mary Poppins, he sets a high bar for actors."

The 86-year-old star has won seven Emmys along with a Tony and a Grammy Award.

Van Dyke will be given his prize at the 19th Annual SAG Awards on Jan. 27, nearly 12 months after taking the stage to present his former Dick Van Dyke Show costar, Mary Tyler Moore, with the exact same honor.
