Then again, who are we kidding? We're fashion critics, not marine biologists. All we know is that the enormous sea creature was designed by Toronto label Vawk and also has a taste for Christian Louboutin heels.

As for where this crime of nature took place, the answer is Canada—where the "Firework" singer managed to stay alive long enough to perform at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards.
