About a month after CBS filed suit against ABC for allegedly ripping off Big Brother with its new Glass House reality show, CBS appears to have the ball in its court (for the moment), with a federal judge considering the network's request to shut down the series.
So, what's the latest?
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Gary Allen Feess refused ABC's request to wait until after Glass House began airing before deciding whether or not to grant CBS's request for a temporary restraining order to stop production on the show, according to Variety.
ABC had originally asked the court to consider a "preliminary injunction on a normal briefing schedule," which meant the judge's decision would be pushed back until July 9, after the show's scheduled debut June 18.
Feess ordered ABC's legal team to file an official response to CBS' request for a temporary restraining order by 5 p.m. Monday instead, which could mean the judge will make a decision on the whole snafu as early as next week.
News of this possible legal smackdown comes just a day after CBS filed an emergency request to prevent the ABC series from airing.
