To put this in hoops terms, Nia Crooks is being whistled for a flagrant foul.

A rep for the Broward County (Fla.) State's Attorney's Office tells E! News that Basketball Wives: Miami star Evelyn Lozada's personal assistant has been charged with misdeameanor battery for slapping costar Jennifer Williams on the face in January—an incident we all got to witness during the April 16 episode.

The charges was filed April 10. If convicted, Crooks could face up to a year in jail.

And that's not all. Last week in New York, Williams also filed a civil complaint, which shares that the incident occurred on Jan. 21 at the Gulf Stream Racing & Casino Park VIP suite in Broward.

As seen in the episode, Crooks attended a social gathering at the race track with the B.W. ladies in hopes of getting her house keys from Jennifer, who allegedly stayed with Nia at times while dealing with her divorce from NBA star Eric Williams. But there was already tension in the air since Crooks' boss, Evelyn, had been feuding with Jennifer.

So basically, there was a lot of yelling, cursing and threatening, which ultimately ended  with Nia handing over a swift smack on the mouth to Jen, instead of getting her keys.

Williams said in a statement, "Violence against any woman is wrong. When a woman hits another woman it sets a horrible example and I choose to use the justice system to fight back."
