It doesn't sound like Kanye West is going to score an invitation to the White House anytime soon.

After Barack Obama let slip before an interview with ABC's Nightline two years ago that he thought the rapper was a "jackass" for rudely interrupting Taylor Swift's speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, it turns out the Commander in Chief hasn't much changed his opinion.

When asked which hip-hop artist he prefers—Kanye or Jay-Z—Obama offered up a further presidential assessment of the former.

"Jay-Z," he replied with a smile. "Although I like Kanye. He's a Chicago guy. Smart. He's very talented."

After being reminded of the slam heard around the world, however, the president stuck to his guns regarding the outspoken performer.

"He is a jackass," he added. "But he's talented."

A rep for West could not be reached for comment.
