Forget the bitch, the Beek is back, baby!
ABC's buzzed-about new comedy Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 finally made its debut tonight and marked the TV return of James Van Der Beek (that's Dawson Leary to you!) in the role he was born to play: himself.
Aside from awesome Creek jokes and Varsity Blue references, Apartment 23 introduced us to one of TV's newest and craziest lady friendships, but is it a pairing you'd like to see more of? It's time for our latest Save It or Sink It poll, people!
It's a tale as old as time: A small-town girl with big city dreams moves to New York City...and is soon terrorized by her new roommate. So maybe that last part doesn't happen to everyone, but it sure is hilarious.
June (Dreama Walker) moves to NYC for her dream job and apartment (which the company is paying for!), only to find out on her first day that the company is going down thanks to a little thing called embezzlement. June pulls a Felicity and lands a job at a coffee shop and finds a new apartment courtesy of Chloe (Krysten Ritter). While Chloe starts off all sugar and spice and everything nice, soon she's having sex with June's boyfriend on her birthday cake. Don't worry, she was doing it for the right reasons.
So how does James fit in? Why, the Dawson's Creek star is one of Chloe's BFFs, of course, and plays third wheel to Dreama and Krysten's charming Odd Couple-esque dynamic. So is there anything on James' resume he's not willing to poke fun at? In a word: no. "I tell them to go for whatever is funniest and don't worry about offending me," he says. Coming up? A fictional stint on Dancing With the Stars, which James turned down in real life.
