The future is looking brighter than ever for Captain America.

With less than a month to go before Mr. Red, White & Blue hits theaters as a member of The Avengers, Marvel and distributor Walt Disney Studios have announced April 14, 2014, as the release date for their highly anticipated sequel to last summer's blockbuster hit Captain America: The First Avenger.

Chris Evans is set to reprise his role as ripped patriotic supersoldier Steve Rogers, who after helping America defeat the Axis powers—and archenemy The Red Skull—in World War II, ends up frozen in time only to be defrosted to fight in present day.

According to Marvel, his next solo adventure will pick up where The Avengers leaves off as he struggles to embrace his place in the modern world. No word yet on a title or whether original director Joe Johnston is on board for the follow-up.

Speaking of The Avengers, E! Online will also be livestreaming the blockbuster's world premiere from Hollywood on Wednesday, so tune in!
