Don't mess with Armie Hammer...or his wife.

The two like to play with guns.

Real guns!

They (wife is journalist and former E! staffer Elizabeth Chambers) actually exchanged firearms for Christmas. "I gave her this little .22 revolver," the Social Network star says in the new issue of Details. "She got me a Sig Sauer P220—a great .45 automatic."

It's not as scary as it sounds. Hammer happens to be one of the nicest actors in Hollywood.

And probably one of the richest. If you don't know by now, his great-grandfather was oil tycoon Armand Hammer. It's certainly ironic that Armie is playing J. Edgar Hoover's right-hand man and lover Clyde Tolson in Clint Eastwood's bio pic J. Edgar because the late FBI boss man hated his great-grandfather because of his close ties to Communist leader Vladimir Lenin.

"When I first read the script, it didn't make sense why Clyde would stay around—because 99 percent of the time he's just taking abuse," Hammer says. "But then it was explained to me: When you get that little glimmer of hope—like Tolson did—that simple kiss on the forehead, it all seems worth it and you stay."

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hoover.

"Tolson was the only man who treated Hoover like a human," Hammer says. "They had lunch together every day and dinner together every night. Without exception, never missed it."

Hammer is currently filming the Snow White movie in which he plays Prince Charming opposite Lily Collins as well as Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen.

Hammer has been forced to draw some boundaries during the shoot. "Julia had a line about how smooth my chest is," he says, "and it's not. So the producers were like, 'Okay, just shave him.' And I was like, 'Whoa. I spent 25 years earning this chest hair. I'm wearing purple tights and a codpiece, so, please, let me keep my manhood.'"
