Listen to Dave Grohl, Kids: Stay in School, Don't Do Drugs, Just Say No to Glee

It's probably safe to say that Dave Grohl's No. 1 opponent is no longer Foo. Or rowdy fans.

The credibility-oozing rocker, fresh off his defense of good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll at this year's VMAs, dropped by Chelsea Lately last night, where E!'s own Chelsea Handler wasted no time in turning the conversation to Grohl's headline-grabbing Glee smackdown from earlier this year.

So has this Foo Fighter changed his tune any on the song-and-dance show?

What do you think? While Grohl is sticking to his guns when it comes to the show and showrunner Ryan Murphy, he has softened his delivery a bit, forsaking F-bombs for a rather rationally and completely respectably delivered stance.

"The creator of Glee, who I've never met—and I've really only watched about three minutes of Glee…I don't watch a lot of TV—I read something where he was kind of mouthing off about some friends of mine in rock bands," Grohl explained.

"And I just felt like, as a musician, you should be able to say no. You should be able to say, no, I don't want to do your show or I don't have to do anything that anybody tells me to do."

"Most musicians…You know, I'm a high school dropout," he began, prompting a sarcastic high-five from Handler, before pointing to his multimillion-dollar self and adding, "Stay in school, don't do drugs...'cause look what happens!"

Getting back on track, Grohl admitted that he didn't realize his comments would become so widespread as he "didn't realize it was some Hollywood dude"—specifically, some Hollywood Reporter dude—that he was speaking to.

Not that that would have changed what he said.

"Why should you have to do it? Why is that necessary for you to do as a rock musician in your career, why should you have to say, OK Glee, take my song and turn it into a f--king musical. That being said, I don't know the guy and I've never really watched the show—I don't know if it's a good or a bad show—I just know that I like rock music."

The Foo Fighters are currently in the midst of a North American tour. We can guess one showrunner who won't be lining up for tickets.
