There's got to be an answer to this mystery.

Bill Nye of Bill Nye the Science Guy TV fame, collapsed midsentence onstage, slurring his words and stumbling around Tuesday while giving a speech to students at USC, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Students are calling what happened to the brainiac "bizarre" and are trying to piece together what happened...

Nye, at the university for a presentation on science education, was walking toward the podium when he just dropped. He was down for about 10 seconds.

According to one student, it appeared Nye blacked out, asked how long he was "out for" and then revealed that the same exact thig had happened to him that morning.

He attempted to finish his speech, but once again began slurring his words and stumbled around, bumping into his laptop and refusing a chair. He sipped from a water bottle until someone helped him exit the stage.

Paramedics were called and the college's public safetly officers also responded around 8:40 p.m., but there was no immediate word whether Nye, 54, was taken to a hospital. His rep tell E! News "he's fine."

We hope so.

UPDATE Nov. 16, 2010 at 8:55 a.m.: Just got some more good news from Nye's rep: "Bill Nye is feeling much better after a good nights rest. He says he pushed himself too hard after a long day of an early satellite media tour combined with a late night speech."
