Guess being Anna Wintour's pet only gets you so far.

Just a week ago, we thought Blake Lively's dinner with Leonardo DiCaprio could have been a champagne toast to nabbing the part of Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby (since it wasn't a hot date).

But apparently, her amazing bod and gorgeous locks could only do so much...

Becasue the part has been offered to Carey Mulligan.

Amaze!

According to our frenemy Lainey, Blake's screen test with Leo didn't go well, like, at all.

In a true boo-hoo moment, it appears Blake didn't get a call back and that only Carey and Rebecca Hall did.

But, in the end, Carey's rep confirms to E! the part was offered to Mulligan Monday night.

Baz Luhrmann picked up the phone, called Carey and said, "Hello Daisy Buchanan."

Scarlett Johansson's name was also thrown around a lot, but apparently her schedule isn't ideal.

We are so pumped with this choice!

Carey's got that classic look and charm that will channel Fitzgerald's timeless character down to a tee.

Plus, it'll be just another award-winning movie to make Shia shake his head after the break-up. Well played Carey, literally!

How do you all feel about this casting choice?
