To hear Sylvester Stallone tell it, everyone involved with The Expendables was anything but, well, expendable.
"What really makes a star is when the audience is looking at that person on the screen and they feel like they can trust what they're looking at," the action icon says regarding his costars in this clip from "Inferno," a feature-length making-of doc that's exclusive to the movie's upcoming Blu-ray release (Nov. 23).
He continues with the high praise, most notably when talking about Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts and Mickey Rourke, as cameras capture Sly and Co. during a photo shoot in May of 2009.
"I needed men that are stars in their own right and you put all that together as an experiment and see what would come out of this," he says.
Try a worldwide box office take of nearly $261 million and talk of a sequel. Yep. Pretty good experiment indeed.
