A report out of London claims Robert Pattinson turned down a whopping $2 million to be the new celeb face of Burberry.

The British fashion house's head designer Christopher Bailey apparently had his heart set on snagging the Twilight heartthrob for an upcoming ad campaign, according to the not-always reliable Mirror.

Who could blame Mr. Bailey, right? However...

Sources tell us it's bogus.

While Burberry has yet to comment on the story, we're told an offer was never made. "It's pretty obvious Rob wouldn't want to do something like this," one source said. "Burberry is smart enough not to bother even approaching him about it."

Bailey does know a thing or two about celebrity. Harry Potter star Emma Watson starred in a campaign for the 254-year-old luxury brand, as has model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who replaced Megan Fox in the Transformers franchise.

And let's not forget that Kristen Stewart joined Mary-Kate Olsen and Kate Hudson in the front row of the Burberry Prorsum show during London Fashion Week in February.

Ironically, Pattinson poked fun at his fashion sense when he appeared in a promotional video for the MTV Movie Awards in June. After telling Tom Cruise's Tropic Thunder alter-ego Les Grossman that he was thinking of slipping into a suit, shaving and washing his hair for the awards show, Grossman barked, "Your filthy hair made you a star. Your filthy hair made me hundreds of millions of dollars."

And that's just the way we like it.
